On July 20th, 2008 Lady Meghin Dutchess of Novi and Lord Christian of TERD (Toronto-Elizabethtown-Raleigh-Detroit) set out for the medieval city of Gent located in central Belgium just an hour west of Brussels. Their French horse and carriage (a Renault Scenic which is French for crappy car) traversed the difficult landscape quickly and arrived just before the noon hour to the 
sounds of church bells. After finding suitable lodging (parking) for their French beast (crappy car) they decided to explore the city in search of nourishment and warmth given the unusually chilly temperatures that day.
Their first stop was the Belfry tower located in the heart of the city and after climbing to the top and sharing a moment of public affection, Lord Christian noticed to the west the approaching peasants from Gent making headway towards Gravensteen Castle - the home to King 
Charles the V. In a mad dash, Lady Meghin Dutchess of Novi who was scared of heights decided it was time to decend the tower and make way over to the castle to help defend it from the unruly and curiously dressed peasants who seemed to be feasting on local brew.
Once at the castle, Lord Christian suggested they position themselves at the 
numerous protected enclaves where they could view the
peasants from above and ensure by way of the spectacular view's of the city that no more were approaching. Just in case peasants were captured, Lady Meghin decided it might be wise to break out the new Guillotine so inspections were made to ensure it was fully operational.

Lord Christian made way over to the boulder-tossing, flame throwing launcher looking thing and loaded it up with rotten potatoes to beat back the angry peasants without success. Lady Meghin and Lord Christian under duress from the local peasants
escaped via the dungeon to the Leie river and boarded a small vessel piloted by a very strange Dutch speaking guide who took us to the safest place in the city - The Bierhuis (Beerhouse)!
Knowing their demise was narrowly avoided, Lady Meghin suggested they load up the crappy car errr French horse and carriage and head back to the safety of Brussels...which they did without incident!
